Patrol Meetings
All scouts will be assigned to a patrol. There are usually four patrols. They willmeet alternate weeks before the troop meeting. ASM Linda Petrovsky is the adult liaison for the patrols. All patrol meetings need to have adults present. They are not there to run the meeting but to keep control and order. Patrols will not be able to meet without adults present.
Participation Policy
There is a participation policy in place to fulfill the requirement in the Star, Life and Eagle ranks. All scouts will receive this policy when they start the Star rank requirements.
Dress Code
All scouts are to be in "Class A" uniforms at Troop meetings. Boys can attend the meeting without the uniform, but it will not be counted towards participation for rank advancement.
Scout Behavior
All scouts are to stay in the areas that the church has provided. For our Troop meetings, it is limited to the Fellowship Hall, and to the two classrooms behind the kitchen. There should be no running in the halls, around the Church or its grounds, and Scouts should not be in the lounge. (Scouts are expected to remain in the Fellowship Hall unless there is a designated activity occurring in a classroom.) The church has an extensive fire alarm system, that automatically alerts the Fire and Police Departments. If a Scout sets off the alarm, the Scout (individually) will be responsible for payment of the alarm and any property damage to the Church.
Trip Cost/Refunds
The Troop tries its best to keep costs down. Many activities require a deposit to secure reservations in well in advance of the trip. If the Scout makes a commitment to attend a trip, and is unable to go, deposits cannot be returned.

The Troop has a website at www.troop165ny.org. Please visit the site regularly for information updates and give us your feedback on ways that the site can be make more useful.
